Day 2: March 30, 2008
And after the Alps we finally landed. We are so excited to visit a country considered to be the cradle of our civilization. As soon as we touched ground we drove to Florence, our first destination and birthplace of Dante. Some of us are studying the Inferno of Dante and being here for us means a lot. The founder of the Italian language walked through the very same city....Florence. Well by the 15th century Italy had become the richest, most dazzling, most cultured part of Europe. People from all over flocked to see what was happening and to bask in the brilliance of Florentine Renaissance. So we guess a lot of people after Dante wandered along the very same streets...
